goal:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe restoration of biodiversity in exhibitions and collections of the National Botanical Garden (Institute) \u201cAlexandru Ciubotaru\u201d, affected by the heavy snowfall of 19-21.05.2017<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specific goals :<\/strong><br \/>\nGreen reconstruction of the \u201cROSARIUM\u201d exhibition;<br \/>\nGreen reconstruction of the \u201cLIANARIUM\u201d exhibition;<br \/>\nGreen reconstruction of the \u201cFLORICULTURE\u201d exhibition;<br \/>\nGreen reconstruction of the \u201cSYRINGARIUM\u201d exhibition;<br \/>\nGreen reconstruction of the \u201cPINARIUM\u201d exhibition;<br \/>\nGreen reconstruction of the &#8222;ARBORETUM&#8221; sector;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Added value of the project:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe restoration of collections and exhibitions, their enrichment with new taxa and the restoration of a part of the infrastructure<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project activities:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe conservation of plant diversity in the National Botanical Garden (Institute) \u201cAlexandru Ciubotaru\u201d for sustainable use;<br \/>\nThe maintenance and enrichment of the herbarium;<br \/>\nThe creation of an environmental education center;<br \/>\nThe reconstruction of the main sectors and exhibitions of the National Botanical Garden (Institute) \u201cAlexandru Ciubotaru\u201d, (Lianarium, Rosarium, Floriculture, Pinarium, Arboretum and Syringarium);<br \/>\nThe purchase and planting of more than 2000 units of dendro-floricultural planting material to restore the gene pool of the Botanical Garden;<br \/>\nThe installation of about 10 benches and litter bins in order to create comfortable conditions for visitors interested in ecological tourism and environmental education;<br \/>\nThe installation of 5 information panels to promote environmental education;<br \/>\nThe creation of three new sectors, \u201cRare Plants\u201d, \u201cSmall and Medium Sized Conifer Cultivars\u201d and \u201cHostarium and Shade-Loving Plants\u201d, aiming at enriching the gene pool and preserving the diversity of plants from the Republic of Moldova and from other geographical areas, under artificial conditions;<br \/>\nThe reconstruction of roads within the sectors, exhibitions and collections mentioned above;<br \/>\nThe installation of about 60 pergolas and frames for climbing roses and lianas in the Rosarium and Lianarium exhibitions;<br \/>\nLabeling about 100 taxa in order to develop the Botanical Garden as a center for informing the public about the plant world and the need to conserve it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anticipated results:<\/strong><br \/>\nPurchase of 10,000 plants of new varieties of roses to restore the \u201cRosarium\u201d exhibition and the genetic biodiversity of varieties of roses;<br \/>\nLabelling all the varieties of the newly-created exhibition;<br \/>\nReconstruction of the system of paths, installation of new frames and pergolas for climbing varieties of roses;<br \/>\nPlanting new species and cultivars;<br \/>\nLabeling the plants to promote environmental education for target groups;<br \/>\nInstallation of new pergolas and frames;<br \/>\nCreation of an actual idea of the damage caused to the gene pool of this sector by the natural disaster;<br \/>\nPurchase of new plants taxa to replace the damaged and completely lost ones;<br \/>\nCreation of the \u201cHostarium\u201d exhibition using other perennial, shade-loving plants to promote biodiversity conservation;<br \/>\nCarrying out the inventory of more than 150 taxa of Syringa and the recovery of the state of the exhibition after the natural disaster;<br \/>\nPlanting over 500 units of new varieties of Syringa;<br \/>\nLabeling all the varieties of Syringa and carrying out agro-technical works to ensure the sustainability of the project and the conservation of the gene pool of this exhibition;<br \/>\nReconstruction of the system of paths and the stairs from the exhibition and the installation of about 50 benches and litter bins;<br \/>\nInventory of the \u201cPinarium\u201d sector to determine the current state of about 160 species and varieties of conifers, native to Asia, Europe and North America;<br \/>\nReconstruction and conservation of the Pinophyta sector, introduction of new species and cultivars (genera: Pinus, Picea, Abies, Juniperus, Thuja, Chamaecyparis, Taxus, Larix etc.);<br \/>\nRestoration of the system of paths in the \u201cPinarium\u201d sector;<br \/>\nInventory of about 45 ha with over 280 species and modern mapping, showing the real state of the sector at the time;<br \/>\nRecovery and conservation of the genera Padus, Betula, Prunus, Populus, Saix, Alnus, Ulmus, Acer, Malus, Sorbus, Pyrus etc.);<br \/>\nConservation of seeds of woody plants included in the Red Book and creation of a sector named \u201cRare Woody Plants\u201d;<br \/>\n<a
